Tips and tricks at the airport
Ever feel like you’re in a huge rush at the airport? Me too. I never even get to the airport on time. Everyone says you should get to the airport at least two hours ahead of time so you have enough time to check your bags and find your gate. Well, I get to the airport one hour ahead of time and do just fine (even though I still have to rush a little to get to my gate) Anyway, here are some tips for everything going smoothly at the airport and what to always carry with you.
Tip #1 get to the airport in a timely manner, so your plane won’t leave if you have any complications, trust me.
Tip #2 always, always, always have snacks with you. From pretzels, fruit to chocolate, I keep snacks with me in case the airplane food sucks
Tip #3 pack light. You never want to lug around a heavy bag while trying to find your gate. Also, don’t pack too many things in your carry on, save it for the big luggage. Some people carry many things in their carry on’s, but I just think it’s easier to travel light (just a personal preference).
Tip #4 only pack essentials to carry through the airport. My Top 10 essentials that are in my carry on include:
- A sweater
- Extra pair of jeans
- Warm socks
- Extra shirt
- Book I’m currently ready, and what I’ll read next
- Agenda
- Chocolate
- Small makeup bag
- Magazines
- Computer
Tip #5 through the years I’ve learned that I always need to eat before getting on the plane, even though I pack a bunch of snacks. I always realize that I’m always hungry. Here’s a list of restaurants I usually go before getting on the plane:
- Carrabba’s
- P.F. Chang’s
- Starbucks (always a must)
- Chili’s
These restaurants always get the food done fast so you can be out of there as soon as possible and on the road… or in the air.
Tip #6 don’t forget to pack your charger. I know this is kind of an obvious one, but believe me, I’ve forgotten to pack my charger many times. So to save your nerves and your money, don’t forget it and pack it in your carry on.
Tip #7 Electronics… we bring them everywhere. Am I right? I usually take my phone and computer with me when I travel. The thing is, I always, always, always obey the airplane mode when I’m on the plane. Make sure you do the same. #safteyfirst
Tip #8 I’ve mentioned before that I bring a book everywhere so I don’t get bored while waiting. I’m currently reading The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks and I highly recommend it.
These are just some things I do when I’m at the airport. Usually, things go smooth. I hope these tips help a little and come in handy when you’re traveling somewhere.
