Outfit of the week
I honestly feel like all days have just morphed into one big giant, never-ending day. I wake up, work out, shower, zoom, eat, and repeat. I’ve been stressing about AP Exams recently because of the changes and everything. You probably don’t want to hear about AP’s or school. That’s fair. So instead, let’s talk about this week’s outfit. You have no idea how excited I am to share this one.
I’m really about to put you on something. Ok, let’s start with the pants. They are a GODSEND. They feel like sweatpants, but they’re trousers that you can wear anywhere. Work, school, around the house… you name it. But anyway, I found out about these bad boys through Instagram (no surprise there). I was casually browsing on Instagram when ‘BAM’ an ad popped up, and it was promoting some store, Luv AJ. I mean, I had to check out their products because they seemed pretty cool. I hopped onto their Instagram page, and I saw the posts, and I was like, “This jewelry is about to be so overpriced.” Boy, was I wrong. Their jewelry looked of such quality but for such great prices. I scrolled down their page for a little while longer, and I saw this girl popping up a lot, Matilda Djerf. Of course, I was nosy and had to check out her Instagram page too because I saw the way she dressed, and that inspired me. After some digging, I found that she has a clothing line, Djerf Avenue. What can I say, I had low expectations for this store. I really did.
Nevertheless, I decided to check her clothes out, and I ended up loving her “Favorite Pants.” They were all sold out. I was like, “Great, just my luck because this stuff looks neat.” Fast forward a couple of days later, and she was restocking her collection because of high demand. Now, if you know me, it usually takes me forever to buy something online, and it took me about 12 hours to buy these pants because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to click “place order.” But I bought them anyway, and let me tell you… they’re my favorite pants (no pun intended) so far. They’re fantastic, to say the least (I have the pics to prove it). They’re so soft, and you won’t find pants like these anywhere else. What I like about her company is that it’s not mass-produced and they make all of their products in Portugal, so this is some quality stuff. I 11/10 recommend these. They’re so worth the investment, especially if you’re looking for something to wear to work but also for a casual night out.
The top is from Brandy Melville, but I’m pretty sure I bought it at Pacsun. I’ve read up on the controversy with Brandy Melville not being size-inclusive, and I wasn’t aware of this, but it’s a pretty big issue. Considering how popular their style is since the early 2000s fashion is making a comeback, I don’t understand why their clothing is all one size. After reading and reading and reading about the issue, I was quite saddened by it because I believe that all shapes and sizes should be represented, not just one particular body shape.
I didn’t accessorize this outfit at all except for the earrings, which are from Lilly Pulitzer plus my Fila shoes.
Xoxo,
Lina
